Spencer, IA (KICD) — The Iowa Lakes Corridor’s annual Business Recognition Luncheon was held Wednesday afternoon at the Clay County Regional Events Center.
The Corridor handed out four awards. The Young Professional of the Year award was presented to Sara Taylor, a registered nurse at Spencer Hospital. The Entrepeneur of The Year was Nate Kraft of Krafty’s Meat Market in Milford. The Small Business in Excellence award was given to Matt Carstensen of Carstensen’s Meat & Grocery Store of Lake Park. And the Large Business of The Year award was presented to the Merril Manufacturing Company in Storm Lake.
The keynote speaker was Emmy-Award winning TV Anchor and Documentarian Cory Hepola. His presentation was “Learn. Listen. Mission.” – a three-step process to discovering peace with who we are. Hepola is in northwest Iowa this week filming his “My Town Series” docu-series, that breaks down the misconceptions and stereotypes of rural lifestyles.
