Spencer, Ia (KICD) – The Spencer Tiger Softball team went in to Monday nights contest against #4 Estherville Lincoln Central riding a 5-game winning streak.

After neither team was able to get anything going in the first inning, ELC started finding barrels in the top of the 2nd, driving in 6 runs on 7 hits. Estherville Lincoln Central starter Tatum Dunlavy would respond by retiring the next 6 batters.

Spencer’s Kaitlyn Lawson would bounce back by retiring the side in order in the 3rd inning, but ELC would score their 7th run in the 4th inning when Dunlavy drove in Bre Christoffer on a single.

In the bottom of the 4th inning, the Spencer Tigers were able to load up the bases with 0 outs, but Dunlavy would work out of it without allowing any runs.

Estherville Lincoln Central would score again in the 6th when Dunlavy drove in another run on single, scoring Rylee Yager.

In the bottom of the 6th, Spencer was able to get the leadoff runner on, but Dunlavy would retire the next 6 batters in order, striking out 4 of them, including a 9 pitch, 9 strike, immaculate inning in the bottom of the 7th.

Estherville Lincoln Central improves to 24-1 on the year and 6-0 in the Lakes Conference while Spencer drops to 10-9 and 3-3 in the Lakes Conference.
