Spencer, Ia (KICD) – The Spencer Boys Track and Field team enters the 2024 season with a lot of potential and momentum from last season. A lot of State Qualifiers have returned after breaking school records in 2023. This leads to some lofty goals for the Tigers.

That’s Spencer Head Coach Wilson Hookfin. Weston Johnson agrees with coach Hookfin that not just getting down to Des Moines should be the goal.

Hookfin believes the most important part of reaching these goals will be staying healthy.

Van Munson has been putting in a lot of work over the offseason, trying to knock his 800 times down for the spring.

Miles Robbins hopes to hit the max for State events this season.

Hookfin says the work that they are putting in now for the early season, will be the hardest they work over the next few months.

The Tigers already opened up their indoor season early this week at UNI for the Dickinson relays, where they had two events place in the top 10. Spencer will be back in action on March 12th at Buena Vista for the Lakes Conference Indoor Track and Field Meet.
