Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– A series of additional arrests have been made in connection to a large fight that took place on Christmas Eve in Storm Lake.

Police were originally called to the Oasis Events Center in the early morning hours of December 24th, where multiple people were reportedly found to be engaged in fight on the dance floor with one person sustaining serious injures after being hit over the head with a chair.

An ongoing investigation led officers to 31-year-old Yoandri Valdex of Lakesdie, 30-year-old Yusnavy Cruz of Storm Lake and 22-year-old Isaiah Rivera of Cherokee who were all charged with particpating in a riot.

Rivera has further been charged with going armed with intent and assault while participating in felony after witness accounts and surveillance reportedly had him in possession of a firearm that was displayed during the incident before then later fled the scene prior to police arrival.

This latest set of arrests take the count to seven individuals having been charged with police still working to identify one other suspect.
