Sibley, IA (KICD)– Some additional details have been released from a Monday crash involving a school bus from the Sibley-Ocheyedan School District.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened around four o’clock on Monroe Avenue southwest of Sibley when the southbound bus collided with a tractor pulling a manure spreader that was turning into a nearby driveway.
Police say dust being kicked up by the farm equipment obstructed the bus driver’s view playing a role in the incident.
All eleven students on the bus were cleared by medical personnel on the scene. The bus driver, 52-year-old Galen Habben of Sibley, had to be removed from the bus before he was airlifted to Sioux Falls for treatment of what are described as incapacitating injuries.
