Washington D.C. (KICD)– Farm groups are voicing their disappointment at the announcement from the Environmental Protection Agency that they’re going back to Obama era definitions under the Clean Water Protection Act. Ag Law Professor Roger Mceowen says an extreme interpretation could call a puddle caused by rain a “Water of the U.S.”
Mceowen tells KICD News the interpretation of a “significant nexus” is even more concerning.
The Supreme Court is currently reviewing a case over “WOTUS”. The Trump Administration had changed the EPA regulations, and the Biden administration has now announced they will change them back.
