Pocahontas, IA (KICD)– A Sioux City man has been charged after allegedly leading Pocahontas police on a pursuit on Monday.
An officer with Pocahontas Police Department was reportedly watching traffic at Highway 3 and Main Street shortly before eleven o’clock Monday morning when a vehicle reportedly ran a stop sign while traveling at a high rate of speed.
The officer then pursued the vehicle through the business district and into a residential area before the driver fled on foot without taking the vehicle out of gear causing to collide with a vehicle parked in a driveway.
The vehicle was later found to have been stolen from a local business prior to the chase.
As a result, 26-year-old Keygan Egdorf was charged felony eluding, second degree theft and multiple traffic violations including reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash. He was booked into the Pocahontas County Jail on 15 thousand dollars bond.
