Aurelia, IA (KICD) — Buena Vista County authorities have arrested an Alta man for that break-in at the Aurelia Casey’s last month. As we previously reported, a figure was seen on store surveillance breaking the front door and steeling a thousand dollars worth of vaping material.

Police Chief Brian Flikeid tells KICD News after local news media reported the crime, his office received numerous tips that led them to 18 year old Anthony Esquivel of Alta. A search warrant was executed at his residence Sunday and items related to the burglary were reportedly found inside.

Esquivel has been charged with 3rd degree burglary, 3rd degree theft, 3rd degree criminal mischief, and possession of burglar tools.
The Buena Vista and Cherokee County Sheriff’s departments assisted in the investigation, and the Chief thanks the public for their calls.
