Washington, D.C. (KICD)– The American Farm Bureau Federation has put out its annual report on the cost of a Thanksgiving Dinner.

Chief Economist Roger Cryan says the cost for a turkey meal in 2023 is slightly lower than a year ago.

Cryan says the long-term price change likely has to do with inflation, but the year-year decrease this time around can mostly be credited to a higher supply.

Cryan adds the people of the United States spend the lowest amount of their income on food when compared to all other countries in the world which in part is made possible by area farmers continuing to work to keep prices affordable.
