Ankeny, IA (KICD) — J.J.’s Tavern and Grill has won the Iowa Beef Industry Council’s Best Burger contest.
Michael Roberts is a co-owner.

Rules of the contest are that the burger must be 100 percent beef, and served on a bread product. For the third year in a row the winner has been what is known as a “smash” burger.

J.J.’s Tavern and Grill in Ankeny has only been open since November. They’re open seven days a week for both lunch and supper.
The Best Burger winner is announced every May to commemorate Beef Month.
