Arnolds Park, IA (KICD)– There will be at least one change coming to Arnolds Park as far as traffic flow is concerned for the upcoming tourist season.
The City Council voted Wednesday evening to turn Allen Avenue, the roadway that runs between Smokin’ Jakes and Portside Pizza, into a one-way street with traffic flowing from north to south. Councilman Matt Richter suggested the city try this idea for a summer and make changes as needed.
During the public hearing portion of the discussion an idea was also floated of having a designated area off of Broadway for ride share and taxi pick-up to also help eliminate some traffic snarls.
The council voted unanimously to give this effort a try and make any necessary changes this Fall while also continuing to look at some parking options and additional safety features.
