Sheldon, IA (KICD)– An arrest has been made in a nearly two-year-old investigation into a Sheldon Bank Robbery.
Federal authorities say 38-year-old Leon Sutton was taken into custody earlier this year in Illinois and is charged with bank robbery by force and one count of violent crime.
The search began in early June 2021 after a masked individual believed to be Sutton allegedly robbed Iowa State Bank in Sheldon and then left the scene on foot.
Authorities say Sutton will remain in custody until his trial which is scheduled to start in June.
