Aurelia, IA (KICD)– The Aurelia Fire Department is in the early stages of constructing a new home base to better fit current and future needs.
Station Committee member Dustin Wieland tells KICD News the biggest problem right now is space as the amount and size of equipment continues to grow.
A site for a new firehouse has already been found very close to the current home base.
Engineers estimate a new fire station in Aurelia could cost as much as 1.6 million dollars which Wieland the rest of the crew working on funding the needed funding with construction maybe beginning about a year from now.
