Spencer, IA (KICD)– It appears the multiple month search process to find a new leader of Spencer Hospital is over.

The Board of Trustees met in special session Tuesday afternoon to discuss how to move forward following an interview on Monday with Brenda Tiefenthaler who emerged as a top candidate out of roughly three dozen applicants.

Board President Julie Christensen says the experience of Tiefenthaler, who has worked for Spencer Hospital for more than 20 years currently serving as the Vice President of Operations and Patient Care, really set her apart from the others.

Tuesday’s vote was solely to make an offer to Tiefenthaler to be the next CEO of Spencer Hospital. If she accepts, the Board of Trustees plans to formally appoint her to the job at the next regular meeting on Thursday.
