Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– Residents in parts of Buena Vista County may notice a large presence of emergency crews between Storm Lake and Alta Tuesday evening as teams conduct a full scale disaster exercise.

The exercise is being simulated to take place in the City of Storm Lake, but due to the amount of space needed to adequately conduct the training, the event will actually take place near the Platinum Crush Plant.

The drill is being conducted jointly by fire departments from Storm Lake, Alta and Newell along with the Canadian National Railroad and will be begin around 6 p.m. and running approximately three hours.
