Spencer, IA (KICD)– The Centers Against Abuse and Sexual Assault officially has a new home base in a very visible part of Spencer.
The ribbon was cut on the new facility on South Grand Avenue on Wednesday as part of what Executive Director Stephanie Henrich says was a very emotional day.
Henrich says the main point of moving into a such a visible location compared to where the organization has been in the past is help bring awareness to its specific causes.
CAASA is also looking at ways to expand services in the future starting perhaps with having a food pantry available for those in need Spencer while also looking to update offerings and facilities in the other 18 counties served in Northwest Iowa.
