Sioux City, IA (KICD)– A Cherokee man has pled guilty to drug charge in federal court.

37-year-old Jason Werner entered the plea on Tuesday on one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine admitting in court that he was involved in a scheme to distribute around four pounds of the drug obtained in California and transferred back to Cherokee from December 2019 until his arrest last May.

Werner will be sentenced at a later date and faces between ten years and life behind bars and ten million dollar fine.
