Spencer, IA (KICD)- Elected officials from Clay County and the City of Spencer are beginning to look at the possibility of having some sort of a joint facility for public works.
In a combined meeting last week, a discussion was had on the possible combination of housing for services which to help with space issues for the county and the repairs needed at the current building used by the city. County Engineer William Rabenberg says there could be some positives to making this move but he also has some reservations.
Spencer Public Works Director Mark White shared some of the same concerns and suggested perhaps the two entities look at sharing a campus instead of just having a single structure.
There is a shared public works facility in Jackson and local officials have showed interest in talking more with those two entities for feedback to see if sharing space would be an ideal situation for the City of Spencer and Clay County.
