Estherville, IA (KICD)– The City of Estherville is putting out a reminder about its engine brake ordinance following an increase in complaints of trucks using their jake brake.

Police Chief Brent Shatto says there are some instances in which truck operators do not realize they have crossed into city limits.

Estherville code states that any use of a jake break, other than in an emergency situation is not allowed. A violation could cost a driver over one hundred dollars.
