Sheldon, IA (KICD)– The City of Sheldon has taken it upon itself to help a problem with the lack of housing in the recent past and that work appears to be paying off.

City Administrator Sam Kooiker tells KICD News the latest monthly report of housing project starts in the community is the largest in recent memory.

Kooiker says the addition of new housing will be a great benefit to local businesses looking to hire more workers.

The community of Sheldon as a whole will also benefit from additional housing when it comes to having more units on the tax rolls especially when considering the taxpayer portion of the bond issue passed in November for the local school district.
