Spencer, IA (KICD)– A new route for those arrested for drug offenses is now available in the local area.

Clay County Attorney Travis Johnson joined Rhonda Wedeking on Saturday’s Rotary Radio Day and broke down the new Drug Court idea as an alternative route outside of normal probation.

Johnson says a program like this can quickly lead to more accountability for those involved.

Probationers involved in the drug court program can also get more of the attention they need because of generally smaller numbers.

Drug Court was brought to the local area by Judge John M. Sandy and is a joint effort between Clay and Dickinson Counties.
