Spencer, IA (KICD) — It is LITERALLY back to the drawing board for a Clay County Conservation Learning Center. Director Will Horsley reminds KICD News the ORIGINAL plan was to remodel an old barn.
But the bids came in at two and a half million. Horsley says local contractors say an entirely new structure would cost much less.
Horsley says the new building would fit between the cabin and that barn at Oneota Park.
The Clay County Conservation Board hopes to award the project by spring and have most of it complete by year’s end.
