Spencer, IA (KICD) – A fund has been set up for a rural Clay County family who lost their home and belongings in a weekend fire.

Fostoria Fire Chief Kim Kroger tells KICD News Sam and Liana Stoppelmoor live a mile and a half directly west of the Clay County Sheriff’s office.

Chief Kroger says it was a full community effort.

The cause of the blaze is unknown.
A fund has been set up at the State Bank in Spencer. Sam Stoppelmoor is a member of the Royal Fire Department, which has scheduled a fundraiser for April 16h.
