Spencer, IA (KICD)– We are just three days away from the start of the election season for 2024 which will be led by the Iowa Caucuses
The Republican caucus in Clay County will be held at the Spencer Middle School. Chair Tyler Herrig took us through the process.
From there participants will go to their individual precinct caucus where the actual voting takes place.
Vice Chair Kate Padilla says ALL adults are welcome to participate, but must bring a photo I.D.
Republicans are bracing for a HUGE turnout Monday night, and will be running shuttles for participants who must park far away from the school.
The Clay County Democrats will also be caucusing on Monday at the Spencer Community School Administration building but will use the time to elect local officers and select convention delegates. Preference cards are being sent to by mail to registered party members to help select its Presidential nominee.
