Spencer IA, (KICD)— At a recent Clay County Board of Supervisors meeting Clay County Sheriff Chris Raveling spoke about a number of issues concerning the jail in Clay County.
Raveling talks about the cost of housing female inmates in a different county.
Raveling says it not only costs money, but it also takes a deputy off the street.
Raveling also mentioned the possibility of increasing the rate Clay County charges other counties to house their inmates.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Department contract with Hy-Vee Foods was renewed for food service with inmates.
