Spencer, IA (KICD)– Early steps in expanding broadband internet access to rural areas of Clay County appear to be moving forward.

Alex Seaman from IGL gave an update to the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday to cover some concern over where the digging for the fiber cable should be.

Seaman says there has also been some contact made with another entity planning to build its network this year to avoid any major problems down the line.

Construction on this project is not expected to begin until sometime later this summer.
