Spencer, IA (KICD) — Spencer’s new fire chief should be on the job within a month. Jesse (Jessie) Coulson accepted the job last week after what he said was a very pleasant interview experience.

Coulson also had the opportunity to visit with firefighters who will be under his direction and tour the fire station.

Coulson tells KICD News it’s too early to announce any concrete goals.

Coulson hopes to be on the job the first or second week in August after wrapping up loose ends in Dubuque.

Jesse Coulson moved to Dubuque when he was 19 and has served that city’s fire department for nearly 20 years.
