Spencer, IA (KICD) — This weekend the new Spencer Middle School tennis courts will be named after a former long-time coach and founder of the Spencer High School tennis program.
Dennis Price founded the program in 1985, establishing the sport at the school for the first time in its history. During his career, the girls team won the dual meet conference championship three times and Lakes Conference tounament team championship in 1991. The boys team secured nine dual meet conference championships and nine Lakes Conference tournament team championships.
The official “Naming Ceremony” will be this Saturday, June 8th at 2pm at the new courts, located behind the Spencer Middle School.
The Dennis Price Tennis Courts were constructed through a joint effort of the Spencer Community School District and the City of Spencer.
