Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors had a public hearing on Tuesday before deciding whether or not to approve a resolution involving the Max Property Tax Levy.

Auditor Lori Pedersen told the board Dickinson County is going for the maximum amount this year partially because of a roll back issued by the state to fix a calculation error, but also to help with a large purchase for the county.

Supervisor Jeff Thee defended the purchase of that radio system despite being questioned about controlling spending noting it was a needed expense based on information received from emergency teams.

The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors approved the updates with a unanimous vote.
