Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors heard an update on Tuesday from one of the companies looking to put a carbon dioxide capture pipeline in the area.

Kaylee Langrell from Summit Carbon Solutions says the Ames based group is making progress on obtaining needed easements from landowners at both at the state and local levels.

Langrell adds there will likely be a delay on the start of initial construction that originates with state officials.

If approved as proposed, the Summit Carbon Pipeline would travel through portions of Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, O’Brien and Palo Alto Counties in the local area.
