Dunnell, MN (KICD) — The cause of a weekend farm fire on the Iowa / Minnesota border will go down as “unknown.”
Dunnell, Minnesota fire chief Alan Helmers tells KICD News he and an inspector from the State Fire Marshall’s office tried to inspect the farm shed two miles North of town, but damage was so extensive they were unable to find a probable source.
The fire was first reported at 3:30 Saturday afternoon. Dunnell arrived to find the shed completely engulfed and put out a request for mutual aid that was answered by departments from Ceylon, Sherburn, Trimont, Alpha, and Jackson. Firefighters were on the scene for approximately four hours.
The shop and its contents – including several vehicles – was a total loss.
