Estherville IA, (KICD)- On Monday night the Estherville City Council gave an update on the traffic lights located at North 6th Street ,1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue north.

The topic was originally discussed as traffic signal removal. However, a concerned citizen brought up speed was an issue Near the daycare and upper Des Moines building, the topic was then sent to Streets & Alleys for further discussion.

Council Member Dave Seylar talked about some potential improvements for the project from last week’s Streets & Alley meeting.

City Administrator Penny Clayton mentioned the challenge of slowing drivers down in that area.

Clayton says their plan is to have it ready for when school starts in the fall.
