Spencer, IA (KICD) — Clay County Sheriff Chris Raveling is reminding motorists NOT to drive through rushing water covering roadways.
Friday morning at 6:40am the dispatch center was called on the report of a car submerged up to the windshield in the 2300 mile of 300th Street, where Norma Hanson had attempted to drive through water and was swept off the roadway.
By the time Deputies arrived, two good samaritans waded into the water, broke the back window of the GMC Terrain, and got Hanson to safety minutes before the entire vehicle became submerged.
