Spencer, IA (KICD)– Goodwill of the Great Plains is celebrating its centennial this year and the celebration made it to Spencer last week.

CEO Briget Solomon tells KICD News in the last Century, Goodwill of the Great Plains has become much more than just a series of second hand stores.

And for those wondering, there is a process all of those donated items go through to make sure they meet quality requirements before they are then sold a new owner.

While Goodwill of the Great Plains is based in Sioux City, the organization as whole has a deep connection to the Iowa Great Lakes going all back to to founder Edgar Helms who was a native of Spirit Lake.
