Des Moines, IA (Radio Iowa)– Governor Kim Reynolds has pardoned two turkeys raised by a Northwest Iowa teenager.
Fifteen-year-old Ava Moline of Manson has been raising turkeys like Freedom and Flourish for six years, having two of her birds given an official pardon is a first.
Moline took the turkeys that were not part of the annual fanfare in Des Moines to market earlier this month with her profits going to help fund her college education.
Moline’s father Brad is the President of the Iowa Turkey Federation. Her Golden Prairie Turkeys are being sold in grocery stores in Manson, Pocahontas, Greene and Ankeny.
