Lake Park, IA (KICD)– Governor Kim Reynolds made her second stop of the week in the local area Thursday morning taking more than an hour to visit with a group of local Sheriffs.
During what Reynolds called a very good meeting was a lengthy discussion on mental health that continues to be a concern for law enforcement not only locally, but across the state.
Among those at the session was Clay County Sheriff Chris Raveling. He says it was great to be able to sit down with state leadership to share concerns from Rural Iowa seen directly from the front lines.
Governor Reynolds says she plans to take the notes from the meeting in Lake Park back to Des Moines and see what can be done to start addressing concerns even if it means changes have to made to state law.
