Des Moines, IA (Radio Iowa) — Twenty-two Republicans in the Iowa House of Representatives have introduced a bill that might slow or halt progress on the carbon pipelines proposed for Northwest Iowa.

It’s main Sponsor is Steven Holt from Denison.

Holt’s bill would mandate 90 percent of affected landowners sign on to the projects before eminent domain could be enacted and increases the amounts they’d be paid for damage.

Governor Kim Reynolds says she’ll meet with the bill sponsors and try to reach a compromise.

Even House Speaker Pat Grassley supports the proposed legislation.
