Lake Park, IA (KICD) — When retired school administrator Les Douma signed on as interim Superintendent for Harris Lake Park he gave a year commitment. A few months ago he thought he could make it work for another year but says he can’t and tendered his official resignation Monday night.

School Board President Evan Bensley is sad to see Douma go and says they’re on the fast track.

Last night the Harris Lake Park School board listed transparency, communication and an interest in student achievement as attributes they want in the new superintendent; and also would love to have someone with experience in getting a bond issue passed.
