Sioux City, IA (KICD)– A Hospers man convicted of drug and weapons charges is going to federal prison.

43-year-old Robert Hansen was convicted in two separate trials last year on one count of conspiring to distribute and two counts of distribution of methamphetamine and three counts of possessing a firearm as a prohibited person after a jury found he was involved in a conspiracy to distribute more than 100 pounds of the drug over a four year time span beginning in early 2017.

Hansen was given 25 years behind bars on Monday and will be required to serve ten years on supervised release following his time in prison.
