Spencer, Ia (KICD) – Spencer hosted their Tournament on Saturday with GTRA, Okoboji/HMS, Pocahontas Area, Sheldon/Sibley-Ocheyedan, and Spirit Lake Park attending from the KICD area.

Spencer ran away with the Team Title, scoring 197 points to 2nd place Canton’s 148. Okoboji/HMS took 5th with 118, GTRA 6th at 113, 9th was Pocahontas Area with 40, and Sheldon/Sibley-Ocheyedan took 10th with 36.

Spencer’s Olivia Huckfelt picked up her 100th Career win, with all 100 wins coming by way of Fall. Huckfelt talked about the moment, and the growth of the Spencer Girls Wrestling team.

Shaylee Sutherland claimed another individual title in the early season. Sutherland says she has seen a lot of the opponents that she faced on Saturday.

Breanna Johnson was another individual champ for the Tigers. Johnson talked about a lot of her hard work in the room paying off.

KICD area wrestlers winning team titles were Cassie McKeen of Spirit Lake/Park at 105, Trista Guinn of GTRA at 115, Breanna Johnson of Spencer at 125, Kyiah Logan of Spencer at 130, Samantha Wolter of Pocahontas Area at 135, Spencer’s Shaylee Sutherland at 140, Jennesa Gates of Okoboji/HMS at 170, and Olivia Huckfelt of Spencer at 235.
