Algona, IA (Radio Iowa)– Hundreds of people turned out to pay their respects to a fallen Algona Police Officer who died last week in the line of duty.

Mayor Rick Murphy addressed the crowd gathered outside the Kossuth County Law Enforcement Center to remember 33-year-old Kevin Cram who was shot while attempting to make an arrest last Wednesday evening.

Vigil host Bob Jennings ended the night by reciting the Police Officer’s Prayer.

43-year-old Kyle Ricke has been charged with first degree and is awaiting extradition from Iowa. Funeral services for Officer Cram will be Wednesday at 10:30 in the Algona High School Gymnasium. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from four to eight at the Ed and Betty Wilcox Performing Arts Center.
