Aurelia, IA (KICD)– An Ida Grove man has been arrested on a warrant related to a police chase from back earlier this summer.

40-year-old Austin Shupe was taken into custody last week and charged with eluding in relation to an incident in July that involves Shupe being accused of fleeing officers during an attempted traffic stop leading to a high speed pursuit that was ultimately ended near Galva.

Following the chase, the Aurelia Police Department applied for and was granted a search warrant for Shupe’s phone records that reportedly confirmed Shupe was the driver involved.
