Cedar Falls, Ia (KICD) – The Iowa High School Athletic Association released their first Football RPI for 2023. The RPI will decide the 4 at-large bids for 3A and 4A, and all 16 bids for 5A.

Top ranked teams are Williamsburg in 3A, Gilbert in 4A, and Southeast Polk in 5A.

Northwest Iowa Schools in the top 16 are MOC-Floyd Valley at 3A #16, Bishop Heelan of Sioux City at 3A #13, Sioux Center at 3A #6, and LeMArs at 3A #11.

For 8-Player, A, 1A, and 2A, the IHSAA put together ranking committees, which will affect seeding in the playoffs.

Top ranked teams are Winfield-Mt Union in 8-Player, Saint Ansgar in A, Grundy Center in 1A, and Central Lyon/George-Little Rock in 2A.

Northwest Iowa schools in the rankings include St. Mary’s of Remsen at 8-Player #5, Woodbury Central at A #2, Spirit Lake at 2A #6, Western Christian of Hull at 2A #5, and West Lyon at 2A #3.
