Wahpeton, IA (KICD) — The Iowa DNR is proposing an upgrade of one of Northwest Iowa’s most popular camping spots. Park Planner Seth Moore says work at Gull Point in Wahpeton is long overdue.
Moore tells KICD News they’d like to modernize campsites, add flush toilets to the beach, and improve the roads in and out.
Moore says they will NOT eliminate trees or green space, which means the number of campsites will go from one hundred twelve to seventy-three.
Moore says work can begin next year at Gull Point State Park if the state can secure federal funds.
