Ames, IA (KICD)– Iowa State University is out with the annual farmland rental rate survey. Organizer Ann Johanns says – as expected – rent is at a record high.

Three counties in the KICD Broadcast area have rent over 300 dollars per acre this summer: Cherokee is 337, O’Brien is 324, and Buena Vista County averages 302. Osceola County is just under the mark at 299 dollars. Average rent in Pocahontas County is 293 dollars, 283 in Palo Alto, 277 in clay County, and 272 in Dickinson. Emmet County comes in lowest at 268 dollars. The ISU survey also breaks down rental rates by land rated as good, average, and poor. The full report is available at the ISU website.
