Lake Park, IA (KICD) — Residents of Lake Park have shown up for the past two city council meetings to learn more, and to comment on proposed zoning changes around Silver Lake. Mayor Matt Carstensen appointed a committee to research possible changes over a year ago.
Carstensen tells KICD News zoning laws always seek to balance the rights of owners to use their property as they wish and doing what’s right for the rest of the community.
Many of the proposed zoning changes in Lake Park seek to limit rain and yard waste from emptying into the lake. Thursday’s night’s meeting is at 7 at city hall.
