Jackson, MN (KICD)– Murder charges have been filed against a Lakefield woman following a long-term death investigation from early last year.
Dispatchers with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a call on the afternoon of January 7th, 2022 that an employee at a Jackson convenience store was not breathing.
The victim was found lying behind the counter by responding units with lifesaving measures performed but she later died at the hospital.
Authorities were later notified by hospital personnel a series of pills later determined to be Oxycodone were found in the victim’s pocket.
The investigation then revealed a text message thread from earlier in the day that allegely shows the victim looking to buy the pills from another individual, identified as 35-year-old Olivia Saddler.
Saddler has been charged with third degree murder and fourth degree controlled substance crime. She is in custody in the Jackson County Jail on up to half a million dollars bond.
