Lakefield, MN (KICD)– A Southwest Minnesota woman is going to prison after pleading guilty to third degree murder in a case dating back to early last year.

Charges were filed in January against 35-year-old Olivia Saddler who, at that time, was accused of providing an illegal substance to another woman who was found unresponsive at a Jackson Convenience store a year earlier and later died at a local hospital.

Saddler was given 74 months behind bars on Tuesday and will be required to serve at least two-thirds of that time before being eligible for release. A second charge of fourth degree controlled substance crime was dismissed by the court.
