Des Moines, IA (KICD) — Iowa Workforce Development has released the county jobless figures for the month of September.
Pocahontas County came in lowest at 1.9 percent unemployment, up point one percent from August but down point 6 percent from last year. Osceola County was just behind at 2 percent even, up point four percent for the month and down point 3 percent year over year.
Every county came in under 3 percent in the most recent report. Emmet County was on the high end at 2.8 percent joblessness, up point 4 percent for the month and down point 7 percent for the year.
The other six counties in the KICD Broadcast area from lowest to highest are:
Cherokee County: 2.2 percent, up point 4 percent for the month and down point 6 percent from last year.
Dickinson and O’Brien county at 2.4 percent. Dickinson down point 2 percent for both the month AND and the year. O’Brien up half a percent from August and down point 3 percent from September 2022.
Buena Vista and Palo Alto come in at 2 and a half percent. BV is up point 2 percent for the month and down a half a percent for the year. Palo Alto is up point three percent for the month and also half a percent lower than a year ago.
Unemployment in Clay County was 2.6 percent in September. Up point 2 percent from August and down point 4 percent from last year’s index.
