Algona, IA (Radio Iowa)– The man accused charged with killing an Algona police officer earlier this year is having is trial pushed back.

43-year-old Kyle Ricke is accused of shooting Officer Kevin Cram on the evening of September 13th during a warrant service. Ricke had originally requested a speedy trial during his arraignment for first-degree murder which was then scheduled for next month. Court records show legal counsel has since submitted a motion to waive the original request while also asking for a continuance.

The request was granted on Friday with Ricke’s trial now scheduled to begin in May.
